Old home

Here is an old house that has a civil war cemetery in the back. I really wish I knew the history of the house and land.

A few fall pictures...

I realize it is pretty much winter, but fall was so beautiful.

One quick thing though... How do you take out some of the brightness in a particular area of a photograph?

Exciting!

Even though it's old and very outdated... I was thrilled to find my parents Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. (1990-2002)

Now I can use Adobe rather then Microsoft Photo Manager... Haha

Honey Girl

We were lucky to have a dog for almost two weeks. She was wonderful, but we were just fostering her for a little while...

Architecture

While visiting my Ninety-eight year old grandfather in Travis City, MI, I stopped to take pictures of the Traverse city asylum. The Victorian-Italianate style architecture was so lovely. I would have loved to capture more of the essence of the buildings, but I did not have the time. Perhaps I will take the time to travel up there this winter...

The asylum was built in 1885 and was used until 1989. I found this asylum unique because they showed "love" to their patients and never used straitjackets. Just simple kindness was a part of their medicine...

Currently, the buildings are being restored. I can not wait to see them restored to their proper beauty, yet the mysteriousness of the building is amazing. (I am having a hard time articulating, sorry!)

Now, not all the pictures are the best in the world... I had a hard time with the shadows and a few I took while driving in the car with my parents. So, just look at the building... not the picture itself. Haha

Creepy

While I am still experimenting with black and white and I really need a better photo program, I did like the first photo. The second photo is just interesting... It looks like it is painted.

colōr

This is my first post, so bare with me. (For some reason this font is underlining everything and I have no clue how to turn it off.) I went on a hike at the "Lost River Cave" in Ky. and took some pictures during the hike. I hope you all enjoy!
